Lately I’ve been think about how the most important journey is the journey back to oneself.
In the midst constantly living & experiencing, constantly being shaped & reshaped by other peoples perceptions that mold us before we even have time to dry. It’s so easy to drift—through joy, through heartbreak, through trying to become someone or something.
I’ve noticed a heavy emphasis on transformation as well…on turning every experience, especially the painful ones, into a reason to evolve. But sometimes a bad experience is just that: bad. It doesn’t always mean something is wrong with you or that you have to rebuild yourself. Sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do is remain exactly who you are.
At times the most important odyssey is the one back. Back to character. Back to your values. Back to integrity, in your definition, your quiet moral compass. Back to that playlist you made at 13.The sport that made you feel alive? That too.
They still know the way home.
